Low-Power Design Flow

Cynthesizer provides a fully-integrated top-down design flow to help you achieve optimum power consumption for your design. You can fully explore micro-architectures resulting from the optimization of power, area, and performance.

By using Cynthesizer during the system design phase, you can rapidly explore different subsystem configurations, the type and amount of memory, as well choices of implementation in hardware vs. software. By implementing functions in hardware instead of software, Cynthesizer has delivered as much as 12X power savings on production SoCs.

You can create and analyze multiple candidate RTL implementations with different area, performance, and power characteristics by directing Cynthesizer to meet certain design constraints. Each implementation is fully created and verified in minutes instead of weeks.

By measuring power earlier in the design process and reporting power estimates along with area and timing, Cynthesizer enables you to optimize the cost, performance, and power to fit the needs of your application.

Cynthesizer automatically measures power consumption at the register-transfer and gate level through its integration with industry-leading power estimation tools. Block-level estimates are used in the context of the top-level SoC to decide which hardware alternatives result in the best power profile. 

As you progress in the design process, you can analyze power at the gate level and pick the right low-power implementation for your target application and process technology. As a result, you can reduce downstream iterations and the turnaround time needed to meet your design objectives.
