San Jose, Calif. - January 23, 2007 - Forte Design Systems announced
today that major customers Hitachi, Ltd. and Canon, Inc. have expanded their adoption of Forte's Cynthesizer
behavioral synthesis product by signing multi-year license agreements.
Cynthesizer was cited as a key part of the hardware and ESL design
methodologies for synthesis of abstract C algorithms to high-quality
RTL.
Ubiquitous Platform System R&D Laboratory, Hitachi, Ltd. first
introduced Cynthesizer two years ago and adopted it for large-scale SoC
design for their state of the art digital consumer electronics, aiming
at ubiquitous society. After a successful completion of the first
project, they have now entered into a multi-year contract for both new
and derivative products.
The Office Imaging Products System Development Center of Canon, Inc.
has been using Forte Cynthesizer for their large-scale SoC design for
more than two years, with tape-outs in several projects. Moving forward,
they will use SystemC in larger-scale SoC development projects and more
designers will use Cynthesizer for TLM based verification and synthesis.
