Forte Design Systems is a leading provider of software products for
design of complex semiconductor chips and systems. Forte's breakthrough
behavioral synthesis technology allows design teams creating complex
electronic systems from algorithmic designs using ASICs, FPGAs, and SoCs
to significantly reduce their overall design and verification time.
The Engineering organization develops and supports the technology for
all of the products in Forte's Behavioral Design Suite. Forte’s
behavioral synthesis product, Cynthesizer, synthesizes high quality,
timed RTL output from untimed, behavioral SystemC input. This technology
incorporates many aspects of compiler technology coupled with hardware
synthesis. Primary responsibilities will be the development of complex
algorithms, data structures and support tools in the Cynthesizer
technology. It requires good understanding of ASIC RTL Synthesis and how
to optimize designs through the flow for area, performance and power.
- Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs
- Develop efficient algorithms and data structures in a highly
technical and dynamic environment
- Act as a technical expert in support of customer-facing staff
- Analyze and debug customer designs to improve quality of results
and design methodology
- Work on complex problems where analysis of many factors and
variables is required
- Very strong understanding of C / C++
- Experience in the use and development of tools for the
Electronic Design Automation (EDA) industry
- Experience in development of complex software projects on Linux
and Solaris operating systems
- Understanding of product regression and release procedures
- Strong background in software engineering, data structures and
algorithms
- Experience with scripting languages such as TCL or Perl and
configuration management with CVS
- Strong documentation skills
- Experience with behavioral synthesis a plus
- Experience with Verilog, hardware simulation, logic synthesis,
ASIC / FPGA development a plus
- BSEE or equivalent
- 3+ years experience in software development
